These hand-painted 1-inch wood disk earrings feature an acrylic rendition of a binary star system in which not one but two stars are at the center. This design shows a red dwarf and white dwarf, such as in the AR Scorpii system, making up a contact system. In such a system, the more compact star—in this case, the white dwarf—accretes material from its companion—the red dwarf—, often called the “donor star” in the pair. While the stars may eventually merge in such a system, the stars on these earrings will stay separate so you can proudly sport them as a binary.
