Annie J. Easley + Centaur rocket stage die cut sticker

$3.50

This 2.2”x3.0” die cut sticker features a sketch of African American computer scientist, mathematician, and rocket scientist Annie J. Easley (1933-2011) with one of her legacies, a Centaur III upper stage rocket. Easley was one of the leading members on the software development team for the Centaur rocket stage, helping to lay the foundation for future space shuttle and satellite launches. The Cassini probe also had the Centaur as its launcher's upper stage. In addition to working on the computer code behind Centaur, Easley studied energy problems, like the life of storage batteries (like those in electric vehicles).

$1 from each Annie J. Easley sticker will go to the National Society of Black Physicists (NSBP). The NSBP has been promoting the “professional well-being of African American physicists and physics students within the international scientific community and within society at large” since its establishment in 1977.
