MU69 and New Horizons Clear Sticker
MU69 and New Horizons Clear Sticker
Explore the far reaches of the solar system with New Horizons with this 3.00”x2.56” clear sticker commemorating the flyby of Kuiper Belt Object (486958) 2014 MU69 (official formal name Arrokoth). MU69 is a contact binary about 31 km (13 mi) long and became the farthest solar system object from Earth visited by a spacecraft during the January 1, 2019, flyby of the object. Its formal name “Arrokoth”, officially given on November 12, 2019, is a Powhatan word meaning “sky”. New Horizons was built by the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (APL), and the new name was announced at NASA headquarters, both of which are local to Powhatan land.
