Celebrating People of Color Test Tube Enamel Pins

$12.00

These enamel pins were designed to give visibility to People of Color in STEM. One pin uses the colors of Pan-Africanism to represent Black people, specifically those whose lives continue to be impacted by the institutional racism rooted before the Atlantic Slave Trade. The other pin uses a spectrum of shades of brown, representing the multitude of skin colors that can be associated with an ethnicity and those who are impacted by colorism. I recognize that these are not inclusive of all identities, but I hope to eventually have enough funds to add additional designs. If you have an identity you would like to see represented, please get in touch so I can draft up a design!

In an effort to support People of Color in STEM, $3 from each pin will go to an organization or project that supports and gives visibility to people of color. $3 from each Pan-African pin will go to the National Organization for the Professional Advancement of Black Chemists and Chemical Engineers (NOBCChE, pronounced No-be-shay), a non-profit professional organization dedicated to assisting Black and other minority students and professionals in chemistry, chemical engineering, and allied fields. $3 from each brown spectrum pin will go to the American Indian Science and Engineering Society (AISES), which supports science and engineering initiatives for students of all ages, from K-12 classroom programs to undergraduate scholarships.
