In May 2021, I painted my first science mural! The Simpson Library in Mechanicsburg, PA, has a number of jersey barriers at one end of their parking lot, and they recruited local artists (*waves*) for their ‘Beautify the Barriers’ project to make the 6-by-2-foot barriers related to their summer reading theme, Tails and Tales. My application was accepted (yay!) so I painted a cosmic take on the theme with a comet (because comets have tails) and tardigrades AKA water bears (the first known animal to survive exposure to interstellar space) reading books, mostly about space and science.
